Therese Fowler Named 2017 Distinguished Alumna
Therese Fowler, MFA 2005, has been named the College of Humanities and Social Sciences 2017 Distinguished Alumna. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald, among other works. Z is available in multiple languages worldwide and has been adapted as an original television series for Amazon Studios, starring Christina Ricci.

The NC State creative writing program is accepting entries to its annual statewide writing contest. Open to all North Carolina residents, the contest is one of the largest free literary competitions in the Southeast and drew more than 600 entrants last year.

NC State Fiction Contest solicits entries for free literary competition
The NC State Fiction Writing Contest, organized by the university’s creative writing program, is accepting entries for its 2015 competition. All North Carolina residents are eligible to enter the contest, except tenure-track professors in the University of North Carolina system, writers with a published book or previous winners. Writers have until Monday, Oct. 12, to submit their works.
