My MFA in fiction from NC State was quite simply the turning point of my life. My fiction got on track because professor John Kessel encouraged me to align my talents with my natural creativity. I’m finally close to producing a book that matches the vision I’ve always had in my head. I also teach courses at my local community colleges for a living, and I love it. My assistantship at NC State introduced me to teaching, and honestly, I thought I’d hate it. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have a passion for teaching and helping students, and it’s become one of the major chapters in my life journey.
