Alumna’s Cookbook Celebrates Food of Eastern North Carolina
Before she built a hugely successful farm-to-table restaurant in Kinston, N.C., and became the star of a PBS documentary series on her life in the kitchen and as the mother of two young children, alumna Vivian Howard dreamed of becoming a food writer.

Student of the Month: Alexandra Goodfred
Alexandra Goodfred is a senior with anthropology and English majors, and a French minor. She interns with a Raleigh book publisher, is Anthropology Club president, and is in the Scholars Program. She has studied abroad in Thailand and the U.K., and looks forward to a career in publishing.
